A little bit about IndyWildheart
Share
This is my first blog post and I'm hoping it will be the hardest one to write, and I'll get much better at this the more I do it in the future. So what I say here is from my heart...
You see I really care about IndyWildheart and I want it to be a successful little one woman small business. It's just me, Helen. I am the sole person behind Indy. I'm not expecting to become a millionaire with it, far from it... that would be impossible, but I do hope and pray it will become a little business I can rely upon to see me through and help me to achieve some of my little ambitions / dreams in life. I do only have small dreams... but they are still important to me.
I am totally aware that the most important things in life are family, health, and all the free things like... walking in woodland, paddling in the sea, being there for someone when they need you. I am most happy being at home, in Cambridgeshire, surrounded by my family, and when I am creating something magical and unique, whether this be a little creature I have needle felted, or a drawing or painting that has some meaning. My whole life has been spent creating something or another, it's just in my soul and I hope it's always there.
I create lovely quality things for people, things that you cannot buy in any old shop. I love finding little independent shops in pretty little villages or towns in the UK and being mesmerised by all the gorgeousness and creativeness on offer. It inspires me and although I cannot afford to have a bricks and mortar shop at this point in my life, I want my little independent on-line store to stock nothing but beautiful things that make people smile and bring them a piece of happiness, whenever they look at them in their home.
I want my needle felted animals to be little bundles of whimsical joy and charm, that my ideal customers want to collect or can't wait to gift them to special people in their lives. They are delicate, beautiful ornaments and decor that can be displayed for many, many years and then passed on to others who love them as much. They are not throw away items and are designed to be loved for years on end if they are cared for. Each little character takes me hours of careful attention and I pour 100% of my creative soul into making them. Each and every one seems to come alive with it's own little personality as I create them. I never get tired of making them... sometimes it's even hard for me to let them go to new loving homes, as they have a tiny piece of my heart!
I wany my personal prints to have heartfelt meaning, show your strong family bonds, and to also reflect some of each family member's individual personalities. You definitely can't buy something so uniquely personal from a shop on the high street. IndyWildheart started with personalised prints, that have proved immensely popular on Etsy, and I will continue to design and create them alongside the needle felted collectables, for as long as people want them.
I care about the planet, and all it's wildlife deeply - It's the beautiful wildlife, animals and plants that inspire me the most. I source as many things as I can for making my creations from other UK small businesses, so the carbon footprint for IndyWildheart is as small as possible. I use my own hands to needle felt, and draw digitally - I make and print everything myself. I don't import any needle felts or anything else, from cheap labour abroad. I use recyclable packaging with all my orders. In the future I am also hoping to make a donation from each needle felted character sale to some worthy causes, relating to pets and wildlife... that is a little ambition of mine. To achieve it, I just need to find my ideal customers and start selling my beautiful felted characters!
So this is my first blog post. I hope it has been an interesting little insight into the girl behind IndyWildheart, and I hope you will come back from time to time to see what IndyWildheart has been up to lately...
